The student team Archilochus Sat from Paros took part on Saturday, November 8th, in the 1st introductory meeting of the national CanSat 2025-2026 competition, taking its first step on the journey to space! 🛰️
The team of the Paros Innovation Center consists of students from Paros General High School, Paroikia Junior High School, and Archilochos Junior High School.
After a six-month process of training, design, and development, similar to a real space mission, CanSat Archilochus will be launched by the Aerospace Student Research Team (ASAT) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) to an altitude of 1 km, recording in real time:
📡 Pressure, temperature, acceleration, and humidity
💨 PM2.5 & PM10 particulate matter
📍 GPS data
📸 Brightness and cloud coverage
The collected data will be analyzed to create a 3D atmospheric profile above the launch area using custom-made programs written in Python! 🌤️
